Ashley was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Her post-secondary education took her to Central Alberta, where she started an undergraduate degree in Adapted Kinesiology/Bachelor of Physical Education at Red Deer College. Her love for adapted sport and accessibility were sparked during this time. She completed this degree at the University of Alberta, where she also obtained a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy and cultivated a passion for Neurology, Pediatrics, and Hand Therapy.

In 2012, Ashley and her husband, Jon, moved to Lacombe. Ashley began her career in Return To Work and PTSD Prolonged Exposure Therapy with first responders, before transitioning to join AHS at Red Deer hospital where she worked for six years in Outpatient Neurology, eventually becoming the Senior Occupational Therapist for both Outpatient Neurology and Orthopedic Therapy. During this time Ashley and Jon also became owners of Dolman Dental and moved it into a newly built commercial building in downtown Lacombe, where Jon worked as a dentist.

As Ashley and Jon’s family grew, Ashley transitioned into private practice, where she was able to focus on her passion for paediatric OT. This was particularly rewarding as it allowed Ashely to be close to home – something that became particularly important after Jon received a life-altering diagnosis.

While Ashley loved private practice and working in her community, she missed neuro-based rehabilitation and leading a team. She began discussing the gap in accessible rehabilitation services, the need for all-in-one evidence-based therapies, and a lack of resources in the local community with Jigger (aka Jason, from The Team Jigger Foundation.) Prior to her husband’s passing, inspired by these conversations and The Team Jigger Foundation’s mission to encourage and assist everyBODY to live and function without barriers, Ashley decided to take the leap to start her own company.

Through Legacy Rehab, Ashley wants to give back to the community what it’s given to her family: love, support, encouragement, and a lot of prayer. Rooted in the same place where Jon created his legacy, she hopes to work every day to create her own. “Together we make a Difference. Together we create a Legacy.”

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Ashley is blessed with two wonderful daughters, who she loves to go on adventures with. She enjoys creating, being at the lake, boating, and travelling.
